My name is a form of Gaelic from the Isle of Man. It’s pronounced Grey-ah and means loveable or lovely.

I studied physical geography at The University of Manchester (BA) and then went on to Imperial College, London to gain an MSc in science communication.

I’ve been working in science communication for over a decade, initially producing podcasts for BBC, The Guardian and The Economist. I began in local radio as a roving reporter for the food and farming programme on Sunday mornings. I then vegan presenting a BBC podcast called CrowdScience on an ad-hoc basis, before being offered a contract as the presenter of one of the most downloaded on the BBC World Service network (The Food Chain).

From there, I was head hunted to work on The Climate Question (BBC World Service) as their Senior Broadcast Journalist in 2020, producing and presenting programmes. In this role, I have covered breaking news, written articles and developed social media content as well as produced content, acted up as the Editor and become on-air climate commentator.
